Matthew 24:15-18 “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the MOUNTAINS. 17 Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the HOUSE. 18 Let no one in the field go back to get their CLOAK." Flee from Babylon, flee from false doctrines, flee from worldliness entering the church, including each individual Christian's heart.
Read the previous article "Kingdom of Hearts". A kingdom, a temple, a house is the same thing. We are to leave/demolish our own house, and let God build His house/temple/ kingdom in us. We are to build a new house on the mountain, the everlasting rock. The everlasting, the greater things.
We are to flee from the lower, earthly, the old, immature and fallen. Whether we speak of law, wisdom, love, justice, peace. We want the righteousness of Christ, of God, of His kingdom, not the righteousness of self or this world, which are the lower. Rather we want to receive the higher, the spiritual, the advanced, mature and everlasting light, representing the righteous robe/CLOAK OF JESUS CHRIST. We are to build our house on the everlasting rock, the MOUNTAIN. Hence why we are not to go back down to our own HOUSE to get anything (the lower things of self and this world. Think also here of the story of Lot, when his wife turned into a pillar of salt when she started to look back to all the things that attached her to the kingdom/ house of this world, rather than to let go and let God. (See Genesis 19.) Luke 17:26–33. «Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man. They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot—they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all— so will it be ion the day when the Son of Man is revealed. On that day, let the one who is on the housetop, with his goods in the house, not come down to take them away, and likewise let the one who is in the field not turn back. Remember Lot’s wife. Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will keep it”
