1. MATTERS REGARDING THE PHYSICAL KINGDOM. ( The old order of this world)
-according to sight (the apparent) is fine if and when it revolve around matters dealing with the physical kingdom. Earthly/worldly subjects.
Examples here would be analyzes and decisions made concerning physical health. (Vaccines etc).
It does not require faith or a fuller measure of the holy spirit. Faith in the invisible, unseen, everlasting = the spiritual kingdom of God.
2. MATTERS REGARDING THE SPIRITUAL KINGDOM (The new, everlasting order of Christ)
While it requires faith and grace, power from God by His holy spirit, in order to reason, analyze and make proper decisions in matters of a mental and spiritual nature.

Christ is lord both over the physical, but represent more so the spiritual. The spiritual, representing the Creator has first priority. Satan is only lord over the physical. Representing the created.
1. Love for the Creator. The spiritual kingdom. Hence walking by faith.
2. Love for the created. The physical kingdom. Hence walking by sight. Always on second place.

The Holy Spirit is the voice of reason in accordance with the higher principles of the laws and teachings of God. We are to reason together with the Lord.
If we choose the unreasonable according to the law and spirit of the flesh when confronted with a choice, you do not listen to the voice of God. Hence you are unfaithful to His command, His voice. This is particularly true when much light has been shed on a topic. You are to choose between light (truth) and darkness (falsehood or a lesser, limited truth, which become fallen WHEN light has been revealed, and you no longer have the excuse to remain in darkness.
This is also the voice of legalism, to blind oneself to the letter of the law, rather than understanding the spirit of the law, and judge not by the apparent, by sight, by the letter, but according to the spirit, based on time and circumstance. The letter of the law, is what characterize the old, immature law, covenant and order. This is also to choose tradition over present light.
