I am a 7th Day Adventist. The great controversy is largely about the law of God/ Christ. What do we build our temple on, our house, our characters? On sand, the temporal, the literal (letter) or on the everlasting rock: the spiritual, the divine.

If we spiritualize away the second coming, as 7th Day Adventist, it might be a bit like removing the 2nd great commmandment.
Matthew 22:37-40
"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt aove the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."
The everlasting promise, of sanctification for all, regardless of outer factors, of going from letter to spirit, immaturity to maturity, in the straight and narrow path of the cross.
